The Role:
Be part of a high performing and passionate Sales / Estimating Team, you will be acting as the first point of contact for new customer enquirers, building rapport with both existing and potential customers. This position can offer the right candidate a unique opportunity for diverse professional development. This could be your steppingstone into a new and exciting career!
Duties:
- Develop a sound knowledge base of all company products and services
- Respond to sales enquirers both via email and by phone to provide pricing, product information, confirming stock levels and status of customer orders.
- Receive and process requests for quote/tender and process orders on behalf of customers in an efficient and accurate manner
- Read and interpret engineering/ architectural drawings to determine customer requirements
- Enter data into excel calculation pricing sheets to work out a cost estimate
- Enter quotes/ orders into the EMS and SAGE systems (training provided)
- Follow up quotes as directed and convert pending quotes into sales through negotiation to maximize profits and achieve sales revenue and profit budgets
- Develop strong relationships with customers and demonstrate how we can add value to their business
- Update the CRM system as required
- Identify potential customer needs and opportunities

The following are also desirable but not essential:
- Steel industry experience in a sales role including knowledge, experience, and competency in estimating processes
- Ability to read and interpret commercial contracts, technical documents and drawings
- Confident with an unrelenting desire to succeed, grow personally and grow professionally.
