                       SALES – Glazing Estimator

Commercial & Residential Glazing Products (Windows & Doors)

Full time based in South Grafton, NSW.

Big River Glass, a well-established, regional fabricator of Commercial & Residential Window & Door Systems, is on the lookout for a dedicated Estimator/Sales candidate to join our team. The full-time position requires an experienced, efficient and organised person to professionally represent the company and secure profitable residential and commercial sales orders by providing accurate and timely quoting services and support and adhere to product specifications and the relevant building standards of the glazing industry.

Experience:

  • Must have a background in the building, manufacturing or construction Industry with experience in Sales, quoting and material ordering preferred.

Role Responsibilities

Your primary duties will be Estimating, selling, ordering and after sales service - tasks which include;

  • Working both independently and within a close team, supporting and collaborating effectively to continue the strong established culture at our BRG Office and factory in South Grafton, NSW. 
  • Liaise, foster and build upon relationships with our clients including builders, architects, suppliers, construction companies or the general public - on questions of design, construction and budget in the aluminium window industry;
  • The ability to accurately read, interpret and estimate & budget costings from residential and commercial architectural drawings;
  • Handle the processing of all orders, determine lead-times and process documentation with accuracy and timeliness, all in consultation with the production team and administrative staff;
  • Coordinate and communicate with the other Sales team members by managing schedules, documents, timetables and clients;
  • Solve problems with drawings, costings & designs and have the ability to think intuitively whilst working autonomously;
  • The ability to offer technical support of BRG products and services to customers before, during and after production of projects;
  • Prepare plan take-offs & quotations in accordance with company guidelines, adhering to BRG product specification and relevant building standards;
  • Follow up on all quotes, record all changes to sizes, configuration and general specification for each job, keeping production informed on a timely basis of any changes and delivery requirements;
  • Respond to trade and retail enquiries for quotes & orders through various channels;
  • Obtain quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers for various glazing and product costs as required;
  • Engage with customers in the showroom, via phone, email, and on-site visits;
  • Listen to customer needs, problem-solve, and provide effective solutions.
  • Liaise with, and assist, production and administration departments;
  • Keep up to date with client acumen, industry training, trends and key supplier products;
  • Adhere to current Work, Health & Safety protocols:
  • Promote the company and its qualities with integrity and confidence;

Requirements

  • Must have some background in the building, manufacturing or construction Industry with experience in sales, quoting and/or material ordering preferred.
  • Experience in Window and Door Industry ideal
  • Excellent computing skills in MS Office, with ability to transition to MYOB, and our own system Quoting and Production software
  • A full current driver's licence as the position will involve site visits.
  • The ability to work autonomously in a team environment;
  • Ensures that all work adheres to established estimating policies and procedures;
  • Be motivated by a high-volume role that requires focus and excellent interpersonal skills;

Advantages to secure the role

  • Strong sales experience;
  • Long term Glazing/Building and or Construction industry experience and knowledge;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the ELEVATE ALUMINIUM and VANTAGE SYSTEMS, and understanding of aluminium window and door fabrication processes and procedures;
  • Application and interpretation of relevant Industry Standards and Regulations;
  • Experience with MYOB, Estimating software VQUOTE and Production software ESP;
  • Understand, use and up-to-date with relevant WHS regulations, Australian Standards, building codes and regulations for the glazing Industry.
