ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Horizons College is a non-state, Special Assistance School based in Caboolture, and is committed to assisting those young people for whom mainstream education is not meaningful.
The school offers relevant curriculum, and features small class sizes, daily one-on-one support, flexible learning environments and a positive educational experience for its students.
We are seeking a highly effective Administration Assistant to join our team in a full-time capacity as soon as possible.
About the Role
Typical duties of the role will include:
- Managing incoming telephone and email enquiries, ensuring messages are distributed effectively
- Greeting and assisting students, parents/carers and all visitors to the Main Administration Office
- Maintaining accurate student attendance records on the TASS school management system
- Assisting with student timetabling in TASS
- Scheduling meetings in the Leadership Team’s Outlook calendar
- Organising cleaning and maintenance requests
- Ordering and maintaining stationery and other supplies
- Ad-hoc administration tasks as required
This role offers four weeks annual leave plus an additional three weeks leave each year, to be taken during school holidays.
About You
This is a very busy and dynamic role. To thrive in this position you will demonstrate:
- Solid experience in general administration roles
- A warm, friendly and enthusiastic manner that will create a positive first impression for all stakeholders that engage with the school
- The ability to work collaboratively with others to ensure that the team is achieving its highest levels of effectiveness
- The ability to prioritise tasks, multi-task and work efficiently
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Word and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- A minimum of 40-50 wpm typing speed
- A Blue Card for working with children or eligibility to obtain one
- School and TASS.web experience is not essential, however it would be highly regarded
