Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's dynamic finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in providing strategic financial support, ensuring accurate reporting, and facilitating decision-making processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in commercial analysis, financial reporting, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:Decision Support:
- Provide expert commercial advice and support to the Head of Finance and Finance Manager
- Develop and review business cases, supporting the approval process, and assisting with delivery post-approval.
- Manage business working capital holdings and ensure compliance with corporate processes and guidelines.
Performance Management:
- Assist in the development, coordination, and control of long-term plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Manage operational improvements to meet business targets.
- Provide quality information and reporting to support decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial results.
- Complete all monthly reporting within the corporate consolidation tool.
- Provide analysis and commentary on financial results.
- Liaise with external auditors and assist in the audit of financial records.
- Complete intercompany account reconciliation processes and maintain the leased property register.
- Provide ad-hoc functional reporting.
- Ensure efficient operation of financial transactional processes.
- Maintain integrity of Capital Expenditure WIP and Fixed Asset Register.
- Capitalize capital expenditure projects into the Fixed Asset Register.
- Determine asset impairment and revaluation.
- Manage banking and treasury activities, including FX hedging.
- Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Complete all other statutory reporting as required.
- Manage internal controls and ensure business compliance.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting position, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Bachelor of Commerce or similar degree.
- CPA/CA qualification.
- Previous experience with large ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) desirable.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Strong process design, development, and implementation skills.
