Senior Accountant Copperstring 2032

We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change?The ProjectUGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometers of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's Northwest Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.The project scope includes:

• 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden.
• 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry.
• 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa.
• up to six new substation sites.

This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the team based in the Brisbane office located in Bowen Hills.Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will see you responsible for driving business systems & processes through the projects to ensure the effective delivery of performance reporting for the project.What will a day in this role look like:

• Driving the effective project financial management throughout the project to ensure timely, accurate and meaningful reporting of performance.
• Coordinating the ongoing system and procedural improvements and release of changes to the project
• Supporting the setup of project financial and performance management and reporting
• Development and promotion of Power BI reporting over business systems

• Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting, Engineering or another related field
• Previous experience with Power BI, with previous experience in JD Edwards also an advantage
• Previous experience in a similar role within the Construction industry
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated ability to analyse and communicate financial information
• Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable to a fast paced and changing environment
