The Opportunity

The Senior Accountant will assist in completing the financial reporting obligations on a daily basis in consultation with other team members. Reporting to the Group Financial Reporting Manager this position will play an integral role in ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations and support across process improvements and enhancements.

Your day-to-day

No two days are the same; this role is diverse, with depth and breadth to cement your career, now and into the future. Areas of core responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing and reconciling entries
• Preparing and analysing consolidated monthly profit and loss, balance sheet & cashflow including all consolidation and elimination entries
• Preparing board report including commentary and analysis
• Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial result each period
• Acting as a business partner to different Support Office Departments
• Creating detailed work instructions for tasks linking to G8 policies and develop new and improved ways of working.
• Liasing with external parties (e.g. consultants and auditors) on matters impacting the financial reporting
• Mentoring the accounting team members
• Providing ad-hoc support and advise on financial matters
• Assisting with internal and external audit requirements by answering queries and providing information on a timely basis.
• Assisting with Half Year and Full Year reporting

About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experiences:

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Degree qualified with CPA/CA

• Intermediate Excel skills
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Strong focus on process improvement
• Desired experience working within an ASX-listed company.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement. 
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid working with children check
