The purpose of this role is to provide assistant to a team of Revenue Officers in patient revenue services (predominately identifying billing opportunities and billing for Workcover, Prosthesis, Third Party, Department of Defence and Sundry Billing) including providing advice to all facilities across West Moreton Health Service.

About the role
Maintain an up to date working knowledge of legislation and computerised information systems associated with billing of Workcover, Third Party, Prosthesis, Department of Defence, MBS Billing and Sundry Debtors.
Ensure billing opportunities are promptly identified, investigated and billed in a timely manner. Follow up data anomalies through appropriate channels and reconciliations.
Provide excellent customer focus in a friendly and helpful manner; communicate clearly and confidently with consumers, carers, internal and external stakeholders, both in person and over the telephone.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- A sound understanding of or the ability to quickly acquire a sound understanding of accounting policies, procedures and practices including the ability to interpret legislative and policy requirements perform reconciliations and maintain appropriate internal controls.
- Demonstrated sound computer skills for Microsoft and database applications including financial and patient information systems applicable to Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS), S/4HANA, FirstNet, Powerchart, Synapse and MediRecords, with the ability to apply these skills in the extraction and preparation of data for reporting.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and consult with consumers, carers, internal and external stakeholders, including effectively deal with demanding situations.
- Demonstrated ability to train team members in billing practices, set realistic goals and establish priorities to meet deadlines in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of up to date billing procedures and procedure manuals, including supporting reference and training resources.
