Senior Broadacre Crop Farm Worker

Our client The Ramps Ridge Services Pty Ltd conducts farming business, sheep, beef and other seasonal agriculture production and covers approximately 3547 ha predominantly dedicated to cotton. The client is nationally accredited from the National Feedlot Assurance quality system and approved for all major markets in the world.The client is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Broadacre Crop Farm Worker to join its team. The Senior Broadacre Crop Farm Worker will be responsible for the efficient operation and management of Broadacre Crop production. This includes operating and maintaining a range of farm machinery and equipment for tasks such as planting, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting. The role also involves assisting in the management of livestock, specifically sheep and beef cattle, ensuring their health and well-being through proper care and feeding practices.In addition to hands-on farming duties, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring farm management plans to optimize crop yield and livestock health. This includes conducting regular maintenance and repairs on farm infrastructure, supervising and training junior Farm Workers and seasonal staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and biosecurity protocols. Accurate record-keeping of farm activities and inputs is also a crucial part of this role.Qualification and Experience:

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV
• Proven experience in Broadacre Crop Farming, including operation of farm machinery. Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Operate and maintain a range of farm machinery and equipment.
• Manage and oversee Broadacre Crop production, including planting, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting.
• Assist in the management of livestock, including sheep and beef cattle.
• Implement and monitor farm management plans to ensure optimal crop yield and livestock health.
• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on farm infrastructure.
• Supervise and train junior Farm Workers and seasonal staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and biosecurity protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities and inputs.

In order to be considered for this role, you must have:

• Strong mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm vehicles and machinery.
• Formal qualifications in agriculture or related fields are highly regarded but not essential.
