Senior Business Development Manager

Primary Objective: An exciting opportunity awaits a high-calibre individual to join leading alternative funds management business. With a growing asset portfolio across various sectors, including real estate investment and non-bank debt,  a need has arisen with our clients Melbourne based team for a Business Development Manager to assist the firm in achieving sales and activity targets by providing access to the wealth and intermediary sales channels across Australia.
Key Accountabilities: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the following key accountabilities:

• As a senior staff member responsible for Distribution & Investor Relations, you will have a network of existing investor relationships and be willing to further develop this capability.
• Sales and relationship management, including identifying equity prospects, building and maintaining strong relationships with direct investors and financial advisers, and developing strategic distribution/sales plans.
• CRM management and reporting, utilizing systems to maintain accurate client data and timely reporting on activity, sales, and prospect pipeline.
• Stakeholder management, strategic planning, and external communications, including participating in the development and execution of marketing plans, planning investor events, and promoting the business at external forums and industry events.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong sales skills, including product/market analysis and effective delivery of messages to capture investor attention.
• Strong attention to detail and financial analytical skills.
• Stakeholder management focus and strong project management skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize activities, and thrive in a team environment.
• Results-oriented with initiative, tenacity, and resilience.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence and integrity.

Qualifications and Experience:

• RG146 (preferred)
• Undergraduate degree in Finance/Commerce/Marketing
• Experience dealing with unlisted private and alternative investment strategies 
• 7-10 years of experience in a distribution or investor relations role, ideally with in the retail and wholesales intermediary sector
• Experience in investor relations or sales (required)
• Real estate industry knowledge (preferred)
• Financial services industry experience (preferred)
• Proficiency in PowerPoint (required)
