Industrial Relations, Public Sector (IRPS) has a key role in ensuring government’s Industrial Relations policies are implemented. IRPS partners with agencies in planning, negotiating and finalising workplace bargaining processes. IRPS develops policies, directives, circulars and guidance notes on Industrial Relations matters and assists in resolving employment relations challenges in the public sector, including government owned corporations.
As a Senior Consultant you will contribute to the development and implementation of Government’s Industrial Relations agenda.

The successful candidate will support the implementation of Government's Industrial Relations agenda, by supporting and actively fostering effective and professional work group collaboration, the provision of consistent and quality advice, progression of bargains and projects within and on behalf of the IRPS team in an environment where matters are often time sensitive and will require discretion. You will also operate as part of a team that values a collaborative, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities:
- Support collaboration, consultation, advice and negotiations with government entities and other key stakeholders to promote collaborative Industrial Relations and support cross-sector industrial implementation strategies that are responsive to individual agency needs;
- Assisting in advocating on behalf of the Queensland Government and public sector clients in workplace bargaining negotiations and other tribunals;
- Contributing to the development, implementation and review of Queensland Government employment and Industrial Relations policy, strategies, and initiatives;
- Support broader Industrial Relations projects and activities;
- Preparing and presenting high level discussion papers, correspondence and briefing material relating to a range of complex employment relations issues; and
- Providing high quality policy and technical advice to public sector entities on employment relations matters.
