Senior Credit Controller

The Position

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your role will be to provide accounting support through the management and processing of receivables from our large branch network. 

You will be responsible for:

• Reporting on a daily & weekly basis the debt collection performance
• Ensuring all payments are correctly allocated and customer accounts are reconciled with correct supporting documentation
• Assisting branches with reconciling of customer accounts
• Following up with branches to ensure that customers pay on time and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Monitoring and prioritising shared email account to ensure timely response to queries both internal and external to the organisation
• Monthly reporting on performance of branch AR processes
• Entering Customer receipts received both manually & electronically
• Downloading the bank report and sending EFT report for inbound customer payments on a daily basis
• Follow up branches and assist with contacting customers for invoices not paid and resolving short-payments
• Maintaining the integrity of the Debtors sub-ledger with a correct and timely processing, receipting and reconciliation process
• Other duties as required.
• Assisting Accountants with EOM procedures
• Weekly invoice / statement runs
• Following up Customer for missing remittance

Who You Are:

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Preferably - a minimum 3 years of working experience in Accounts Receivable / Credit control activities in a high-volume environment
• Ideally have started a relevant degree
• May be looking to work towards CA / CPA in the future
• Confident and capable communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Ability to learn new software packages quickly.
• Good understanding and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Fast and accurate data entry.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team with a “can do” approach.
• Aptitude for systems, documentation control and workflows.
