This opportunity
We’re seeking a dedicated Senior Digital Assurance Specialist to join our Security Assurance Team. In this role, you’ll combine technical expertise with an empathetic approach, ensuring our software development processes maintain sophistication and security. Collaborating with our Red team and utilising technics like static code analysis and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), you’ll safeguard our code to meet the highest security standards.
Responsibilities and Key Tasks:
- Threat Modelling: Use a proactive approach to identify, quantify, and address security threats at various stages of the development process.
- Code Reviews: Collaborate with development teams to conduct thorough code reviews, pinpointing and addressing security-related issues early in the development life cycle.
- Static Code Analysis: Utilise advanced techniques to perform detailed static analysis of application code, helping identify potential vulnerabilities and ensuring they are addressed during development.
- Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST): Conduct real-time security testing on running applications to identify live security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Integration of Security Tools: Integrate appropriate security tools into the CI/CD pipeline, automating checks for early detection of potential threats.
- SSDLC Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to Secure Software Development Life Cycle checkpoints, embedding security practices at every stage of development.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate security findings within the context of business risk, prioritising efforts based on the severity of identified vulnerabilities.
- Feedback Loop: Establish a mechanism for timely feedback to developers regarding security issues, swiftly addressing vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration with Red Team: Work closely with the Red Team to understand potential attack vectors and use their findings to strengthen application security.
- Security Training: Provide guidance, training sessions, and workshops to development teams, emphasising security best practices and fostering a security-conscious culture.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and defence mechanisms, adapting to evolving threats.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of findings, recommendations, and actions taken, keeping stakeholders informed and creating a clear record for future reference.
About You:
Your experience within the Digital Assurance area in the retail and/or telecommunications sectors will be highly valued. We need a keen eye for detail, an ability to understand complex IT systems, and a talent for simplifying complexities. Most importantly, we seek someone excited about their role, friendly, empathetic, and ready to collaborate.
