The role
As a senior consultant in the Step Two team, you will support our clients in shaping, designing and delivering Digital Workplace strategies and solutions that enhance employee experience and engagement.
This role gives you the opportunity to:
- Develop visions, strategies and roadmaps that fully reflect the reality of today's Digital Workplace environments, with all their strengths and issues. This work is informed by on-the-ground research and Step Two's unique body of knowledge.
- Further strengthen field research skills, by applying the full range of ethnographic techniques across a diverse range of organisations, focusing on field and frontline staff.
- Help organisations make informed strategic decisions about Microsoft 365 strategies, adoption and governance.
- Apply the complete set of HCD techniques to design usable and effective solutions and prototypes.
- Assist organisations in establishing robust governance to ensure the long term effectiveness and sustainability of their Digital Workplaces.
- Work closely with clients, both throughout traditional consulting engagements, and via ongoing 'mentoring' relationships.
- Grow a loyal client base by developing and cultivating relationships with industry practitioners and leaders who understand the unique value of Step Two's services.

Your journey
While our consultants come from a very wide range of backgrounds, we're particularly interested in the following experience for our new team member:
You've been a Microsoft 365 consultant or contractor and now you'd like to grow your expertise in strategy and planning
You've been a successful intranet / Digital Workplace / collaboration manager, and would like to spread your wings and work within many environments, not just one
You've been working on relevant projects for a few years, and you'd now like to play a more active role in guiding projects, not just delivering them

The right person for the job
You will be:
- Based in Australia already with permanent residency (we can’t accept overseas applicants at this point)
- Located in NSW, QLD, ACT or VIC
- Clear, succinct and articulate, both verbally and in writing
- Experienced at presenting, communicating and influencing
- Strong in analysing situations and formulating practical strategies
- Friendly and engaging, with a strong interest in the “people side of the problem”
- Excellent at delivering high quality work within tight deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of SharePoint and MS Teams would be highly valued, and you must display an innate interest in workplace technology solutions
- Hungry to build your client base, win business and over-achieve your targets
- A fast learner, motivated by the challenge of hitting the ground running
- Already experienced in a relevant area, with a minimum of 5 years in the industry (prior experience in consulting or contracting roles is highly desirable)
- Happy and able to work from home for the majority of the time
Work type
We will also consider candidates on a part-time (4 days per week) basis.
