The role
Reporting to the Executive Director Infrastructure Planning and Delivery, you will be required to provide leadership and high-level program management skills to lead multi-disciplinary team/s within a complex health environment to enable the delivery of an on time, on budget quality infrastructure program.
You will work collaboratively across Health Capital Division to achieve organisational outcomes, leading teams of Project Directors, Project Managers and support staff in the delivery of health infrastructure across the project lifecycle in alignment to the values of Queensland Health and the Health Capital Division Commitments.
You will take on the role of a system leader, delivering leadership through partnership with Hospital and Health Services, other State Government Agencies and Industry Partners, fostering collaborative and productive relationships and providing support and guidance in navigating a complex system.
You will be required to liaise, negotiate, consult and provide high level support and advice to Deputy Director-General and Director-General as well as internal and external stakeholders. You will need to proactively identify and manage complex situations and project risks as well as develop responses and preventative solutions to issues affecting the project/s in consultation and negotiation with key stakeholders.
You will be required to lead the team in the preparation and coordination of written complex communication on a wide range of subjects, including confidential and sensitive matters (e.g., ministerial briefs, questions on notice, parliamentary briefs, and cabinet submissions).
The successful person
The successful candidate will Exercise superior judgement and political astuteness in the provision of system-level strategic and operational advice. This includes representing and negotiating directly with senior government executives, commercial partners and industry representatives on behalf of Health Capital Division, providing specialised advice and knowledge to implement best practice approaches and strategies in relation to the capital program across Queensland Health, incorporating whole of life considerations and engagement and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders and industry.
The successful candidate will apply leadership, critical thinking and subject matter expertise in the resolution of complex organisational, policy, legislative and project issues and risks to ensure alignment to government objectives, mandates and leverage whole government opportunities to improve quality and commercial outcomes in relation to the delivery of the capital program.
In this role you will be required to undertake duties as directed by the Executive Director Infrastructure Planning and Delivery as required to support the objectives of Health Capital Division and the success of the Queensland Health Capital Program as well as work closely and collaboratively with other Executive leaders across all branches of the Division.
