About the role:
Working within a multi-disciplinary team the Senior Document Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management and control of project documentation throughout the lifecycle of our developments and projects.
This newly created position requires a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in the implementation and execution of document control within the energy sector. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the corporate and projects requirements, implement and maintain a document management system, as well as organising, maintaining, and distributing project documentation in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Management:
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive and organised document management system, specific to the energy sector, adapting strategies to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Set-up and oversee document control processes and procedures for projects.
- Ensure the efficient management and control of project documentation, including but not limited to creation, distribution and archiving, throughout the entire lifecycle of developments and projects within the oil and gas sector.
- Implement process to ensure comprehensive handover of project information to operations
Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the document control framework, contributing to the enhancement of efficiency, accuracy, and overall project success.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project teams, engineering, operations and other departments to gather, organise, and review project documentation.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform regular quality checks on project documentation to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies in project documentation promptly.
Change Control:
- Manage change control processes to track revisions, updates, and approvals of project documents.
- Communicate changes effectively to relevant stakeholders and ensure the integrity of the document control system.
Training and Development:
- Provide training and guidance to team members and project stakeholders on document control procedures, fostering a culture of understanding and compliance across the Company.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Document Controller in energy or related industries
- Familiarity with industry-specific document control systems and software
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to documentation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
