Senior Draftsperson

As a result of our continued growth we are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual with passion and drive to join our Design & Drafting Team for an immediate start.

About the applicant;

• A minimum of 5 years' experience within the WA residential building market
• Intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office Suite and advanced skills inArchiCAD Software (currently running V27)
• Have a thorough understanding of Local Government Planning Policies/Developer Guidelines, Building Codes of Australia and R Codes
• Experience in producing justification letters and submitting planning applications would be advantageous
• Comprehensive experience in ALL types of residential projects such as 1st home buyers, unit developments and two storey projects all with varying complexities
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have exceptional time management skills and ability to meet time frames and deadlines
• Have a high attention to detail especially when checking sketch work and working drawings
• Ability to work both autonomously and part of a team

About the role;

• 2IC role to the Design and Drafting Manager that will be heavily involved in co-ordinating job flow and progress, monthly reporting in addition to problem solving and assisting the department on a day to day basis
• Produce new sketches and working drawings for single & double storey homes and multi-unit developments, all with a varying degree of complexity
• Ensuring a high quality of design and drafting work
• Taking sole responsibility of large projects including developments
• Liaising with Sales Consultants, Contracts Administration and other departments to achieve high quality and accurate work
• Liaising with Estimating to develop the most cost-effective designs
• Ensuring NCC requirements and R codes are met on all projects

This position is suited for an experienced Draftsperson aspiring for the next stage in their career into a senior role that is involved with the day to day management of the department alongside the Design and Drafting Manager, in addition to being an integral team member in the production of high quality working drawings.
