Work Location: Hedland (Rail) - Fortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 4D/3R - FIFO ex Perth or Residential.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our Rail Engineering team (Hedland Operations). As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the identification, planning, and execution of projects in relation to our Rail Operations, Rollingstock and Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop scope of work, plan, and oversee the execution of electrical projects inconjunction with the mechanical project manager.
- Develop cost estimates and project timelines to support early engineering framework.
- Design electrical systems including but not limited to instrumentation and PLC hardware.
- Perform acceptance testing for all hardware changes prior to implementation.
- Support the integration of decarbonisation improvements into our operational systems.
- Manage project Opex/Capex budgets and provide forecasting to project planning teams.
- Mentoring of vacation students and graduate engineers.
- Contributing to detail design reviews.
- Complete detailed project handovers to the operation teams prior to close out projects.
- Engineering degree - Electrical (mandatory).
- Experience with diesel generators (preferred).
- Ability to positively influence stakeholders and peers to achieve Fortescue's targets.
- Self-driven, willing to be flexible and the ability to demonstrate initiative without supervision.
- Eligible to be an electrical nominee.
- Experience in project management.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- Current driver's license (C-Class).
