About the role
WesTrac is currently seeking an experienced Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) Advisor to provide guidance and undertake initiatives aligned with WesTrac's Sustainability Plan, “Net Zero by 2040” Pathway, policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Reporting to the Group Manager - Safety, Sustainability and Risk you will partner with internal stakeholders and leverage your experience to drive improvements in the ESG space.
This is a full-time permanent role based from our Tomago head office with ability to WFH 1 day per week.
Key responsibilities for this role will include:
- Identify, scope and implement ESG projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement in WesTrac's ESG standing.
- Establish and complete standardised ESG reporting to meet regulatory and compliance requirements and complete analysis to identify trends and make recommendations for corrective action when required.
- Prepare reports for the executive leadership team including the annual sustainability report and contribute ESG related information.
- Provide consultation to internal stakeholders to ensure operations align to WesTrac's ESG strategy, and relevant legislation.
- Promote an Environmentally Sustainable Culture throughout the organisation.
- Collaborate with sales teams in enhancing sustainability offerings that align to customer needs to contribute to revenue growth.
- Regularly update WesTrac's Sustainability Hub
- Coordinate quarterly sustainability workshops.
- Support the investigation and resolution of environmental incidents, develop audit criteria, and conduct compliance inspections as required.
- Tertiary qualifications in Environment Management / Environmental Science / Sustainability or similar.
- Lead Auditor in Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001 highly regarded but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated understanding of ESG strategies and policies and their application.
- Ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders of all levels.
- Sound project management skills.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation with proven ability to interpret and apply.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to provide recommendations and action as required.
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally and drive outcomes and manage change to support the implementation of ESG initiatives.
