Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at a leading scaffolding company located in Sydney's Western suburbs. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our projects by accurately estimating costs and providing comprehensive proposals for scaffolding services. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities:
Estimating:
- Utilize industry knowledge and company guidelines to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for scaffolding projects.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine material and labor requirements.
- Conduct on-site evaluations as needed to assess project scope and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
Proposal Development:
- Develop detailed proposals that outline project scope, pricing, timelines, and any special considerations.
- Ensure proposals align with client requirements, industry standards, and company profitability targets.
- Present proposals to clients and participate in negotiations to secure contracts.
- Address client inquiries and provide clarification on proposal details as needed.
Cost Management:
- Monitor project costs throughout the estimation process, identifying areas for cost optimization and value engineering.
- Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and industry best practices to inform estimating decisions.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including project management, engineering, and procurement, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Provide guidance and support to junior estimators, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster professional development within the team.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities and contribute to strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the scaffolding industry, with a proven track record of successfully bidding on and winning projects.
- Thorough understanding of scaffolding systems, construction methods, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-focused approach to proposal development.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision in estimating.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Salay and Benefits
