About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Investment Finance, this role will suit an individual with a proven background operating in a Senior finance partnering role. Supporting the organisation in the delivery of commercial objectives aligned to Technology delivery programs and enhancements.
Critical to your success will be your ability to engage and influence Senior stakeholders across numerous business functions. The role will require the formation of close working relationships across Finance and the Group more broadly and will require strong collaboration, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
The role will require financial acumen that will ensure good financial management of the day-to-day project activities including complying with the required processes, standards and policies. In addition to the day-to-day accounting activity, you will have experience in project performance reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial governance, commercial insights, and benefits tracking.
You will be part of a Finance Business Partner team working to develop and deliver a best-in-class project finance function. It would be advantageous to have 5 years plus experience in a similar role, as well as have ACA or CPA qualifications.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Provide financial support and guidance for Technology Transformation Programs
- Accountable for quality and timeliness of project financial and benefits reporting. Including day-to-day project financial management activities, compiling monthly journals, preparing monthly reporting and analysis of the program/project performance and budgeting/forecasting activities as required.
- Engage with Financial Accounting to ensure correct accounting treatment and required assessments are up-to-date and complete.
- Provide insights and advice to the Head of Investment Finance, Business Unit FBP’s, and Project Sponsors/Steering Committees ensuring program/project performance is well understood and decisions are well informed.
- Contribute to Business case preparation for all finance inputs.
- Prepare and present Finance slides to Steering Committees and lead finance discussions.
- Prepare ad-hoc management reporting and analysis as required.
- Collaborating with Business unit FBP’s on:
- Work with the Investment Finance team to identify continuous improvement opportunities that would simplify and standardise accounting processes and performance management reporting.
About you
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline
- CA/CPA post graduate qualifications (or equivalent)
Experience
- 3+ years in a Technology based Finance Business Partner role
- Experience in a Project Accounting role (Desirable)
Knowledge & Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior management.
- Working knowledge of Office 365
- Advanced Excel skills would be a distinct advantage.
- Working understanding of PPM (desirable)
