What are we looking for
Reporting to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing various financial responsibilities within the organization. You will be responsible for management and statutory reporting, cashflow management, billing, financial compliance and taxes, commercial insight and advice, financial modelling of projections and client profitability and more.
We're looking for a driven individual who can develop and implement effective financial management, role model our company culture, ensure high performance within the team, optimise our systems and processes whilst ensuring that our efforts are aligned with our business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present accurate and insightful monthly financial and performance reporting for the Executive team and Board
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
- Support the finance team to build a high performance culture
- Develop and maintain internal controls including balance sheet substantiation and general ledger reconciliations against a robust accounting policy framework
- Prudent management of cash flow including management of working capital and foreign exchange
- Oversee preparation of audit and tax submissions including preparation of audit papers and collaboration with external auditors and tax advisors
- Drive process improvements within the finance team to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial processes. This includes working with are in-house automation team and leveraging new software add-ons or systems implementation to drive more timely and high quality delivery of outputs
- Build and run models to calculate client profitability, long range forecast and business initiatives
- Work effectively to support stakeholders with reliable information, analysis and commercial insight
- Most importantly you’ll share knowledge and identify opportunities for how we can continuously be better
Essential Requirements for the Role: To be successful in this position, you should have the following qualifications and experience:
- A degree in commerce, business, or accounting.
- CPA or CA qualification.
- 3+ years of proven experience managing end-to-end finance function. Experience in a high growth business and/or multi country operation is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to liaise with senior management, the board and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build effective working relationships to achieve common goals.
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Demonstrate success in implementing initiatives to change systems and processes
- Flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements as needed
- Proficiency in Excel and knowledge of financial reporting packages (we currently use Xero)
