About the OPPORTUNITYWe have a new opportunity for a
Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team based at Flinders Street, Adelaide, reporting to the Accounting Manager.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.As a
Senior Financial Accountant, you will be the go-to-person for financial accounting queries by internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:- Act as a 2IC to the Accounting Manager – Financial Accounting
- Managing and reviewing lease accounting processes and contracts
- Prepare and present on annual statutory accounts to Statutory Directors & Officers
- Managing external audit requests and end-to-end planning for timely lodgement
- Preparation of technical accounting positions for review internally and by external auditors
- Plan and conduct annual training for area to all applicable Finance staff and other functions as required
- Provide guidance to the junior team members
About YOUYou will have:- Demonstrated Experience in Financial Accounting and audits
- Degree qualification in relevant field and a CA or CPA qualification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to take ownership of task and embrace change
- Strong stakeholder management skills with high level of personal integrity, initiative and motivation
- Experience leading a group of professional staff to ensure they provide a quality service that meets specified accounting and reporting requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
