About us:
The South Australian Country Fire Service (SACFS) serves communities through dedicated volunteers delivering professional fire and rescue services to outer metropolitan, regional and rural South Australia.
The SACFS is an all-hazards agency responding to bushfire, building fire, road crash rescue and hazardous material spills.
The SACFS also works alongside the SA Metropolitan Fire Service and State Emergency Service, and with local government to help with strategies for fuel reduction and to educate the community about bushfires and fire safety.
About the role:
Are you ready to actively and positively contribute to the safety and wellbeing of South Australians, and to the economic welfare of the State? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Governance Officer. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in projects delivering executive functions of the Agency and in support of the Legal and Governance directorate.
The Legal and Governance Directorate aims to enable and facilitate the work of all SACFS Directorates and Regions to deliver service excellence to the CFS, in particular to our 13,500 volunteers.
As a Senior Governance Officer, you will provide expert advice on governance arrangements to senior staff and volunteers. You will assist in managing corporate risk and providing advice and support for SACFS business units in risk management, policy development, as well as reporting and managing Ministerial requests, parliamentary briefings, Cabinet submissions, and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests as required.

Essential Qualifications:

• A relevant tertiary qualification (such as public administration, policy, business, or management) or significant relevant experience.

Desirable Attributes or Accreditation:

• Risk management experience and/or qualifications
• Relevant FOI training and/or accreditation

Remuneration:
$97,022 - $102,626 plus superannuation

Special Conditions:

• The position requires participation in an operational roster for which overtime and on-call allowances are paid.
• The role will be offered on an ongoing basis.
• Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) required prior to employment.
• Satisfactory Department of Human Services General Employment Probity required prior to employment.
