The Role
We are seeking a talented, highly motivated Senior Health and Safety Advisor. The role will be responsible for providing safety advice, investigation, and Safety audit services on Squadron Energy project sites.
This role will be FIFO/DIDO based at the Clarke Creek Wind Farm site on a 2:1 roster
Key responsibilities:
- Provide strong H&S leadership and build a project safety culture
- Build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels to foster strong awareness and commitment towards safety on construction projects.
- Provide advice and support to Squadron Energy management, employees, and contractors on the effective management of Health and Safety matters.
- Ensure conformance with legal and contractual requirements and evaluate operational compliance with approved safety management system
- Undertake Health and Safety system and performance auditing of contractors
- Support the Project Health and Safety Manager with investigations of safety incidents as required.
- Ensure that any notifiable incidents are correctly reported.
- Monitor and report project Health and Safety performance to management, employees, and contractors to create awareness and improve overall behaviours.
- Undertake industry specific research to maintain knowledge in Health and Safety best practice.
- Work closely with the Project Health and Safety Manager to provide ongoing process and system improvements on construction projects to ensure quality Health and Safety outcomes.
About you
You will have:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in functional construction and or similar field in H&S role.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of relevant legislation governing safety management of construction/high-risk activities.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in providing advice within construction, electricity, manufacturing or similar industries.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in auditing and investigation.
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Registered Auditor - Safety Management Systems (desirable).
- ICAM or equivalent investigation qualification or experience.
- A current Australian driver’s licence
