Job Description
  • Contract opportunity through to October 2024
The Senior Manager, Business Resilience will work within TAL's Risk Office, providing advice and guidance on risk matters across the business. Reporting to the Head of Risk, Resilience, Technology & Change you will be responsible for improving and maintaining TAL's Business Continuity and Crisis Management capabilities through:
  • Owning and managing TAL's Business Continuity and Crisis Management function, delivering on key activities to drive positive change;
  • Supporting existing incident management capabilities with respect to Business Continuity and Crisis events across TAL business units;
  • Strengthen TAL's Business Continuity and Crisis Management Framework to capture disruption scenarios relevant to TAL's business and to provide support to business units on recovery strategy options;
  • Preparation and readiness for implementation of APRA's CPS230 Standard; and
  • Serving as a Business Continuity and Crisis Management liaison, responsible for information sharing and developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
This is a fixed term contract role, working flexibly from our Sydney office.
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to lead and challenge Executive Team members in scenario-based Crisis Management test exercises
  • Strong understanding of critical Incident and Crisis Management Frameworks
  • Sound ability to analyse, isolate & interpret business needs and risks, and develop appropriate solutions
  • Strong understanding of Business Continuity, Resilience Management Frameworks and practices and internal control frameworks, and their relationship to IT Service Continuity (Disaster Recovery) practices
  • Proven success in leading organisation wide change management initiatives
  • Proven stakeholder management, influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strong ability to work autonomously
  • Knowledge of life insurance industry
  • Understanding of the role of the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA) as it relates to the life insurance industry (including awareness of CPS 230 and its implications to Resilience practices)
  • Business analysis skills (i.e. an ability to analyse systems and processes identify drivers/inputs, dependencies and interrelationships).
