KPMG's national trade and customs practice provides strategic, technical and practical international trade, customs and excise advice to clients across all industry sectors. Our team is part of a global network of more than 800 trade professionals across more than 80 countries dedicated to supporting our clients navigate the complexities of international trade and customs.
As a national practice, which is also part of the national indirect tax practice, the location of this role is flexible, with Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth being options and an ability to travel is essential.
Forming part of the Trade & Customs team you will play a key role in:
- Support major projects and mitigate customs duties
- Assist clients to optimise their international trade and supply chain functions using technology.
- Liase with various government authorities on customs valuation, excise, duties, Australian industry plans, tariff classification and policy matters.
- Develop strategic and long-term client relationships across all levels of business.
- Support junior staff to grow and develop into highly effective trade advisors.
- You are able to prepare high-quality client-ready deliverables and present to the senior leadership teams for review.
- You actively seek out opportunities for growth, are comfortable challenging the status quo, and enjoy getting out of your comfort zone.
- You have a can-do attitude and are always seeking creative solutions to problems with the help of the right technical tools and a supportive team.
