An opportunity exists for a motivated leader with experience managing a large number of staff and contracted services across the Inner West. The Senior Manager Operations leads all Inner West operations teams, including Civil Works, Public Trees and Parks and Streetscapes and is Council’s nominated Local Emergency Management Officer. The position is expected to provide a consistent, high-quality approach to delivery of services outlined in the Community Strategic Plan to ensure our parks, grass verge, and roadways are looking in optimum condition and responding to the needs of our community.
Working as part of the Infrastructure Directorate and reporting directly to the Director Infrastructure, as Senior Manager you will provide strong, values-based leadership to the team, at all levels of management and staff. As a proven people leader, you will inspire, coach and develop staff, facilitate partnerships across Council and model achievement of goals and commitments.
You will be self-motivated, community focussed and work collaboratively with the Director Infrastructure and other Managers to ensure the success of the directorate. The role is responsible for ensuring Council meets/exceeds its strategic and operational plans and budgets.
The position is a member of the Senior Leadership Team which includes all Senior Managers, Directors, and the General Manager. The Senior Leadership Team has a collegiate responsibility to facilitate Council-wide outcomes that lead to better services for the community.

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications * Relevant tertiary qualification OR significant equivalent industry experience in operational service delivery

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large team and its functions to achieve outcomes that address current challenges for the IWC and its commitments to the community.
  • Specialist knowledge, skills and experience in a number of operational service delivery areas.
  • Demonstrated financial management, procurement and budgetary experience
  • Class C Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence
