Through careful research and planning, they offer a vital service to the public. After assessing the functions of their wider communications division, they are seeking a Senior Media Advisor to join their team for a minimum of three months.
Your new role
- Drafting media releases and responses
- Ministerial briefings for events and press conferences
- Finding newsworthy stories to develop and pitch to senior staff
- Identifying opportunities and risks through monitoring traditional and social media platforms
- Internal stakeholder engagement and management
What you’ll need to succeed
Resilience and adaptability to a fast-changing environment
Skills and experience in media liaison
A background in journalism is highly desirable
Ability to identify and tell compelling stories
Working knowledge of social media and digital communications
Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
Previous VPS experience would be highly advantageous
Stakeholder engagement and management skills
