Our Mungari Gold Operations (MGO) is a cornerstone asset located 20km west of Kalgoorlie, WA and 600km east of Perth. Mungari is a predominantly residential mine, our employees go home every night, with many living in the local community of Kalgoorlie.

About the role
The Senior Mining Engineer reports to the Superintendent Mining Engineer and is responsible for the production engineering functions to support the underground operations team. You will be the key liaison between the Technical Services and Underground Mining Operations departments, identifying where plans and actions are diverging and addressing the gaps to maintain the plan.
Responsibilities include:
- Short-term planning, monthly and weekly schedules (co-ordinate inputs, develop plans and monitor variance).
- Lead UG Production Engineers - D&B designs, ventilation, guidance, mentoring, standard setting.
- Monitoring and Support - stope reconciliations, production analysis and improvement, and management of contractors.
- Cost management - monitor UG costs and provide input as required for annual budget and forecasts.
- Coverage of planning, production, operations roles as required
- Lead the identification, reporting and management of potential hazards and work to eliminate risk taking behaviours or actions
- Maintain awareness of environmental risks and obligations around the UG mining operations areas to be able to identify at-risk activities where specialist advice may be required
About you
To succeed in the role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
- WA First Class Managers Certificate of Competency (ideal).
- 5+ years mine engineering experience (planning, scheduling, ventilation, D&B) underground
- Competent with mine design and scheduling software, Deswik Suites.
- Leadership experience in providing direction and influencing activities of others
- Proven ability to identify, understand and solve complex problems.
- Strong verbal and written skills to communicate numerical and graphical information.
- A Positive attitude toward safety, increasing safety awareness, ability to implement safety training and set an example for others.
