About the Business Unit
DJCS Emergency Management (EM) includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), Emergency Recovery Victoria (ERV), EM Communications, EM Technology and Data, Sector Performance and Investment, Entity Reform and emergency management statutory entities and offices.
Emergency Recovery Victoria (ERV) is responsible for state and regional coordination for all emergencies to help communities build back better and emerge stronger. Working directly with impacted communities, all levels of government, agencies, and industry, ERV coordinates real, effective and timely support that communities need to recover after a major emergency.
About the Role
The Senior Officer, Recovery Outcomes - Business and Economy delivers a critical function within the State Recovery Operations and Coordination Division, working to achieve the objectives and outcomes of Business and Economy recovery. You will connect work across pillars and collaborate with other branches within the division, regional teams, and key external stakeholders.
Some of your duties will include:
- Working collaboratively across recovery pillars to provide advice and analysis on cross-cutting recovery risks and initiatives, ensuring escalation through relevant pillar governance as required.
- Maintaining and preparing relevant reports and briefings for the State Recovery Operations and Coordination division to inform the effectiveness of relevant Government policies and recovery services.
- Providing high-level leadership and support to the State Recovery Operations and Coordination division completing program and project tasks to support the efficient and effective delivery of relevant recovery pillar outcomes.
- Create a climate of service excellence; encourage new and different approaches and solutions that will deliver benefits beyond client or stakeholder expectations.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a similar position and be a motivated self-starter with a focus on service excellence and attention to detail.
- An ability to work with limited supervision in a complex, sensitive and fast paced environment.
- Proven skills in communication, organisation and planning, teamwork, and senior stakeholder relations.
- Experience in a similar role, particularly within Government, would be an advantage.
- Proven subject matter expertise across relevant pillar of recovery, including ability to advise senior management on key concepts, issues, and risks as they relate to key outcomes.
- Proven analytical and conceptual skills, including demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new concepts and information and deliver positive, innovative solutions to improve Recovery Outcomes.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience, is desirable.
- A current Victorian Driver's licence is required.
