Position Overview:
The Newcastle team are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer with expertise in Water Treatment processes to lead and optimize a number of Water Treatment facilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and compliance of these Water Treatment operations.
You will have a focus on water security, sustainability and also be involved in several clean energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Water Treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Implement and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in Water Treatment processes and implement innovative solutions to enhance performance.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure optimal system efficiency.
- Provide leadership and guidance to operations staff, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure all Water Treatment operations adhere to relevant environmental and safety regulations.
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
To be suitable for this role you will have
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical is preferred, however consideration will be given to candidates with the relevant Engineering experience/exposure,
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in water, wastewater or recycled water, infrastructure operation and maintenance,
- Any experience on clean energy projects is highly regarded. (Even a demonstrated passion for environmental projects will be regarded favorably)
- Experience O&M management is desirable,
- Experience in regulatory reporting is desirable
- Reputation as a team player,
- Strong attention to detail in completion of tasks,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Excellent time and priority management skills,
- Established track record in problem solving and innovative solutions, and
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
