This role involves developing and executing strategies and operational plans, managing services and operations, mitigating business risks, and enhancing organisational effectiveness.
Our client provides you this opportunity to manage and run their South Australian business reporting into an Executive General Manager.
The Senior Operations Manager position will assure the delivery of overall business outcomes through effective leadership and management, aligning with our future vision and performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Culture:
- Provide strong leadership to direct reports, including coaching and driving change initiatives.
- Develop a high-performance leadership team to meet growth and profit objectives.
Safety and Environmental Management:
- Lead continuous improvement in safety, environment, and customer (including quality) management programs.
- Ensure works are delivered safely and are de-risked through innovation and expertise in planning, design, and delivery.
Business Development:
- Engage in tender strategies and customer development with key clients.
- Actively support business development initiatives.
Financial Management:
- Develop and execute the annual budget with the Commercial Manager and Executive General Manager.
- Monitor revenue, gross margins, overheads, and key performance metrics.
- Implementing process improvements and staying abreast of industry trends to drive continuous improvement and maximising financial returns.
Operational Risk Mitigation:
- Implement effective risk mitigation strategies, including regulatory compliance and strong contract administration practices.
- Address operational problems and workflow impediments in conjunction with senior leaders.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Your Management background will be from Engineering, Project Management or Civil industries.
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager with financial and people management skills in an Engineering or Civil Construction industry.
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or proven management history.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction, operations, asset management, or project management on commercial/industrial projects with significant mechanical engineering and contract management involvement, including project risk management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing and leading people.
