The Company
A great opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer/Manager to join a reputable global commodities organisation based in Abbotsford.
The Role
This technical role is not for the faint-hearted...
Reporting to the General Manager of Human Resources, this position will be fully responsible for all payroll and financial reporting activities for the business and their entities. With the support from a junior Payroll Officer, you will be processing payroll for 200 staff, both permanent and casual.
This role will be challenging with lots of variety to keep things interesting!
Key responsibilities will include:
- Payroll management using Preceda software
- Interpret awards and legislations in accordance to contractors and permanent staff
- Coordinating all super and payroll tax payments
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with regard to taxation, super, salary sacrificing and FBT
- Cost analysis and reporting on variances on head count and employment costs
- Prepare monthly payroll reports including leave, headcount, general ledger and payroll tax
- Assist with EOFY reports and reconcilations
- Manage all employee details and payroll data in WorkDay
- General HR support and provide HR support where required
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in a Senior Payroll position for a fast paced and complex organisation
- Knowledge of awards and employment agreements
- Solid experience in payroll functions including exposure to superannuation regulation and payments, work cover and bonus schemes
- Knowledge of Preceda - highly desirable
- Experience with EmpLive, Workday and ADP payroll/HR systems - desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication skills with a strong attention to detail
