Replacing a long-standing and much-loved employee, you will report to a knowledgeable and highly approachable Financial Controller, taking the reins of all things payroll for both a large temp employee base as well as all internal pays.
Expect to really enjoy an excellent work environment, based in well-appointed offices in the Darling Park development and be part of a warm, connected and welcoming team of recruitment consultants and support staff based in all major states.
In order to perform well in the role, being able to execute the following tasks (among others) with efficiency and accuracy is key;
Temp Employees
- End-to-end processing of our weekly labour-hire workforce pays through Astute Payroll
- Processing weekly starters and finishers
- Award interpretation and compliance across all pays
- Calculation and distribution of the weekly margin report
Perm Employees
- Prepare salary schemes for new hires.
- End-to-end processing of our 4-weekly payruns (Xero), including commission calculations, leave management and payroll reconciliations
National Payroll responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and support on payroll-relates queries from management and employees
- Quarterly superannuation contributions
- Monthly Payroll Tax calculations and submissions
- Monthly Child Support returns
- Preparation & submission of portable long service leave returns
- End of year payroll reconciliations
- Stay updated with changes in payroll legislation and modern awards, implementing necessary adjustments to payroll procedures
You will have demonstrated knowledge of payroll legislation and industry awards and be used to working in a fast-paced environment where meticulous attention to detail is a must. Payroll experience in the recruitment industry is preferred but not essential.
You will be exposed to tried and tested systems and processes and have the benefit of a long handover period and support from our outgoing payroll legend.
