The Queensland Police Service (QPS) Emergency Management & Coordination Command (EMCC) supports locally led and safe, resilient communities throughout Queensland.
The Command is focused on enhancing whole of government capability and delivering state level support to disaster operations based on the requirements of the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements (QDMA).

The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Develop and maintain an operational planning capability to contribute towards the development of specific planning products to enhance situational awareness for decision makers.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of scientifically based and local community relevant disaster risk management data, systems, tools, and platforms.
- Identify and analyse trends and issues that contribute to quality decision making for supporting continuous improvement and innovation across emergency management planning.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders regarding planning, policy, and procedures.
- Foster effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to develop and support situational awareness tools and products.
- Coordinate training programs to support emergency management planning.
- Represent Emergency Management and Coordination Command in emergency management forums, exercises, workshops, and reviews.

- Knowledge, experience, or ability to acquire skills in geospatial products.
