$70.71 p/hr plus super 

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer (Level 6) with demonstrated skills and experience in research and synthesis of complex information; policy development, implementation and evaluation; and interpretation of legislation. 

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, demonstrated ability to work with limited direction and collaboratively in team. 

Role Responsibilities: 

• Conducts research and analysis of strategic issues to identify trends and outcomes relating to work health and safety. 
• Prepares reports, briefing notes, public discussion papers and other documents that contribute to policy and legislative development.
• Contributes to Ministerial responses, Client papers and other departmental correspondence. 
• Assists with the development and implementation of effective communication between Departmental officers and external stakeholders, including providing executive support to statutory boards and commitees.
• Represents the Group on relevant groups, committees, working parties and public forums. 

• Demonstrates skills and experience in research and synthesis of complex information; policy development, implementation and evaluation; and interpretation of legislation.
• Strong communication skills. 
• Demonstrated ability to work with limited direction and collaboratively in a team. 

• Commits to meeting objectives, identifies and implements appropriate risk strategies and follows up to finalise work.
• Actively listens to staff, colleagues, clients and stakeholders, involves and recognises others' contributions.
