I have several contract opportunities at the moment for experienced senior Policy Officers and Cabinet & Parliamentary Support Officers with government background and sound policy, briefings and ministerial support skills. If this is YOU, please read on.
Various duties and responsibilities include:
- Updating of existing policies, reviewing against existing and/or new legislation
- Development and writing of new policies
- Leading research and analysis to inform policy papers and consultation material
- Managing the preparation of internal and ministerial briefings, reports and policy discussion papers
- Preparation of parliamentary briefings and cabinet submissions
- General administration and/or project support duties
Ideally you will possess:
- Experience with policy development and legislation within government
- An ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and/or remotely
- Sound research and analytical skills to apply judgment and advice on important issues
- Extensive stakeholder engagement and ability to provide advice on complex matters to the executive and the minister
- Government experience and/or legal background is highly desirable
