Industrial Relations Victoria (IRV) provides strategic industrial relations legislative, policy and technical advice to Government and departments. IRV engages with employers, employees and their representatives, to support a positive industrial relations environment and advocate for fair and secure work and gender pay equity.
Within IRV the Private Sector Industrial Relations branch provides expert advice and assistance to Government on private sector industrial relations matters.
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Director National Labour Hire Project, this is a 6-month opportunity that will support the project to establish a new independent statutory body - the National Labour Hire Regulator (Regulator) - with national application.
The Regulator will be established under legislation (as a model law in Victoria that is legislatively applied or mirrored in other states and territories), implementing commitments made by the Australian Government to establish a single National Labour Hire licensing scheme. Victoria, as host jurisdiction, is responsible for the passage of the model law and for establishing the Regulator that will administer the Labour Hire licensing scheme.
Working as part of a small multi-disciplinary team, the role will be responsible for providing high quality project support for the development of a budget to manage implementation funds; developing an effective project schedule and monitoring and reporting on the same; and coordinating high level administrative tasks and activities to assist the Operations Director and project team.
About you
We are seeking applications from candidates with demonstrable experience in:
- Project administration/coordination and the provision of the full range of project, administrative and operational support functions to a project team.
- Establishing and maintaining project plans, project schedules, risk and decision registers, clear project records and other project documentation, experience in Microsoft Project, and project management methodology.
- Managing multiple deliverables and changing priorities through effective priority setting, negotiation skills and the ability to adapt to business needs.
- Working collaboratively in a team environment to support project and related business activities.
- Establishing relationships with and liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders, understanding their underlying needs and issues in relation to planning, project management and support functions.
Experience and qualifications
A formal qualification in project management is highly desirable.
Experience in project management roles will be well regarded, including contract management, procurement and financial reporting.
