The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Construction Planner / Scheduler to join our Client’s Perth based Project Controls team. The position will be initially Perth based but will transition to adhoc site visits as the project moves into the construction phase.
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Senior Construction Planner / Scheduler plays a pivotal role in optimizing existing project schedules, identifying potential delays or deviations, and communicating these issues to the project management team.
This is a critical position within the project delivery team, responsible for building the construction schedule and ensuring the overall effectiveness of the planning and scheduling of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing clear and concise communication of schedule deviations and impacts to the project management team to ensure early impacts to schedule are highlighted.
- Producing resource plans including workforce scheduling, profiles, and headcount requirements. Effective resource management is crucial to ensure that the right personnel and equipment are available when needed, contributing to project success.
- Developing comprehensive Basis of Schedule documents outlining schedule assumptions, construction sequencing, calendars, weather, resources, equipment and Critical Path information
- Supporting the development and implementation of the project specific advanced work packaging.
- Effective project planning and scheduling will indirectly impact cost management. By ensuring smooth project flow and minimizing delays, the company can potentially save costs associated with project overruns.
- Senior Construction Planner / Scheduler with prior experience working on large-scale Oil & Gas / Construction Projects for EPC companies (circa $1 Billion+).
- L4, L5, L6 Planning / Scheduling experience. Ability to schedule to a workpac level (6).
- 5+ years multi-discipline project execution planning experience large Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, Marine construction projects.
- Expert knowledge of Navisworks software and experienced in Primavera (P6) and all MS Office suite applications and data management tools such as PowerBI.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering and a Trade background.
- Willingness and ability to undertake regular site travel as part of this position.
