Join the School of Indigenous Studies, committed to advancing excellence and equity in higher education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our team offers various programs and support services, advocating for Indigenous cultural competency policy and education at local and international levels.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Business Manager, you will spearhead promotional campaigns to raise awareness of Indigenous Mental Health research. Your responsibilities include coordinating events, managing independent research projects, overseeing social media engagement, and liaising with media outlets. Additionally, you will work closely with the School to promote its programs and initiatives.

In your role, you'll also be responsible for developing and executing promotional strategies to highlight research projects and reports, coordinating video projects to visually showcase initiatives, and keeping the School and project websites current. You'll need to establish strong relationships with media contacts to increase coverage and conduct thorough research on Indigenous Mental Health topics. Your creativity will be crucial in generating innovative promotion ideas to expand audience reach, and you'll coordinate social media campaigns to further promote research and reports. Additionally, you'll monitor and analyze social media performance to optimize strategies effectively.

About you

You should possess substantial experience in social media management and promotion, along with a keen interest in Mental Health and suicide prevention contexts. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with cultural sensitivity, will be essential in this role. Being highly organized, able to prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines are crucial attributes. As an independent thinker and adept problem solver, you thrive in teamwork environments and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Note: A Current National Police Clearance will be required for the successful candidate.
