The position is responsible for operational management of David Fleay Wildlife Park, a departmental ecotourism facility open seven (7) days to the public. Responsibilities include oversight of a diverse (casual, part-time and full time) workforce and supervising multi-disciplinary operations at the site including daily grounds maintenance, wildlife husbandry, WHS, visitor management including visitor-wildlife interactions, and educational experiences, stakeholder engagement along with oversight of site capital works.
The position works a five day on (Monday to Friday) and two days off roster, and may include some public holiday work.
Rangers may work across six focus areas dependent on operational need, including pest management, fire management, estate management, visitor management, wildlife and assets management. As such,Rangers may turn their hands to a wide range of jobs that can be safely undertaken by non-tradesperson.
