About the role:
Suncorp is embarking on one the largest transformation programs we have undertaken, and we now require Technical Business Analysts who have strong technical experience working on the Protect system.
You will have at least three years Protect experience, with strong technical knowledge with the back-end of the Protect system, combined with the ability to understand the business and liaise confidently with senior stakeholders.
You will have the opportunity to join our large Analysis Chapter that supports a variety of medium to large scale programs across the Suncorp Group. The Chapter consists of around 200 like-minded analysts, where ideas and best practice are shared via masterclasses and knowledge sharing. You will support projects being delivered in a continuous delivery model (Agile) as well as initiatives using traditional project delivery models.

What you'll do:
- Leverage your Protect and insurance knowledge to recommend processes, simplify solutions or influence decision making
- Understand the screen flows, integration points, data flow
- Given the requirements are being built and no "big picture" exists, you will need to be flexible, open and self-motivated to drive the outcome
- Work closely with squad / project members, including but not limited to Delivery lead, Scrum Master, Developers, Tech Leads, and Business stakeholders to identify, capture, plan, document and deliver business requirements
- Create detailed user stories to support delivery.
- Document current and future state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams and business stakeholders to validate business requirements and develop recommendations and solutions that meet business and customer needs.
- Raise, and support mitigation and resolution of, risks and issues using established tools and frameworks were applicable.
- Suncorp offers a hybrid way of working where you will be expected to be in the office approx. 2 days per week.
What you'll bring:
- ESSENTIAL: Minimum 4 years' Technical Business analysis experience from a large organisation
- ESSENTIAL: Minimum 3 year's working with Protect from a Technical viewpoint with the ability to navigate your way around the system
- ESSENTIAL: Previous insurance background and understand the insurance policy lifecycle
- Previous experience mentoring and training junior team members with a passion for sharing your knowledge to create a high performing team environment
- Minimum 3 years' Agile, Lean and waterfall experience including knowledge of Agile practices, workshops, and Agile ceremonies facilitation
- Must be able to translate and understand business and technical requirements and provide appropriate alternatives and solutions to meet those requirements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills including experience in dealing with various/senior levels of stakeholders internally and externally.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to make a difference
- Must be able to manage multiple complex initiatives with competing deadlines, while also working autonomously.
