About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineer having experience in 4G/5G/WLAN technologies to design, deliver, optimise, and innovate private wireless networks for IoT, data and voice services to rural and remote customers.
This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring that we accurately assess customer requirements to create robust and cost-effective private networks in rural and remote markets. The position will play a critical role in supporting the sales team to produce solution proposals, liaising with customers, and engaging with a team of network engineers to produce bespoke end-to-end solution architectures. It is an ideal opportunity to get exposure on all aspects of design, deployment, and operation of a private network.
About you
To be effective in this role you will have:
- A degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in design and delivery of 4G/5G and industrial wireless networks.
- Suitable experience in radio network planning software such as Atoll.
- Microwave radio design experience is desirable.
- Understanding of spectrum licensing and EME reporting regimes.
- General understanding of e2e IP network and protocols.
- Experience in RAN optimisation, parameter tuning, feature trial, and e2e troubleshooting through drive test tools.
- Strong presentation and documentation skills. Programming and scripting capability will be desirable. Flexibility to take on tasks outside the wireless domain will be an advantage.
- Attention to detail, commercial acumen, and a good understanding of business processes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Good understanding of project management and ability to mentor junior engineers.
- A good understanding of remote industries including Energy & Resources, Agriculture, Utilities and Environment will be well received.
