Excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Manager (Childcare Director) to be part of Sandgate Kids Long standing community long day care centre at Sandgate.
Sandgate Kids are a not-for-profit long standing community led organisation that encompasses two Early Education Centres and a C&K affiliated Kindergarten. We pride ourselves on being a supportive organisation committed to our values of inclusiveness, collaboration, trust, respect, integrity, and safety.
Our 53 place centre is open Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 6pm for children aged 0 to 5 years, and is focused on providing a physically safe and emotionally secure setting. Children can explore and experiment with a variety of materials and experiences, in a supporting, confidence-building atmosphere
The Service Manager is a vital part of creating a supportive and experienced management team that promotes a warm and welcoming environment.
What are we looking for?
- Experience as a Service Manager (Childcare Centre Director)
- A Bachelor of Early Childhood / Advanced Diploma of Children's Services / Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
- First class knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Framework and The Education and Care Services National Regulations
- A current Working with Children Check
- First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training
- Strong leadership skills including exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in the Assessment and Rating process and exhibited skills in preparing and maintaining Quality Improvement Plan
- A sound knowledge of the Child Care Subsidy scheme
- A passion for quality education and quality care for children
- Working knowledge of Kidsoft
- Knowledge on the Child Safe Standards and Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting legislation
Key priorities of your role will be to:
- Manage the day to day operations of the centre in line with company policies, procedures, values and philosophy
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to all staff
- Manage rosters and wages
- Ensure the centre is compliant with all State Legislation and National Quality Standards
- Recruit, induct and support new team members
- Manage the budget of the centre
- Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at a high level at all times
- Foster harmonious relationships with children, parents, management and team members.
