About the Role
Caring for our team is the superpower you will need. We are looking for motivational and inspiring Heroes to oversee, lead and support our Disability Accommodation team, ensuring only the best service is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure teams actively practice to engage clients to participate in age appropriate activities and tasks including employment, in home support and community access.
- Provide direct care assistance to clients in accordance with their service plan and as directed by senior management.
- Work with clients, family/ carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the client’s individual goals.
- In conjunction with other members of staff assist in implementing and support training and behaviour programs to attain identified individual goals
- Liaise extensively with stakeholders and other staff to ensure the overall smooth and consistent running of the service.
- Oversee House Coordinators responsibilities to ensure that procedures relating to the house, reporting and recording of incidents, maintaining client files, and all other operational processes and procedures are followed.
- Ensuring all documentation is completed as per MMT Care, OH&S and NDIS requirements.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of safe, secure and planned environments where the needs of clients are effectively met as per program guidelines.
- Coordinate and contribute to the intake and onboarding of new team members.
- Manage tracking and reporting for priority areas, programs, obligations, and management requirements
- Inject a positive work culture by supporting and promoting positive behaviours and processes that encourage professional and responsive interactions within and between teams and work groups
Key Competencies & Attributes
- Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, their families, community agencies and other professionals.
- Disability or other relevant qualification & minimum 24 months experience with high intensity health needs and/or complex behaviour clients.
- Minimum 12 months Experience in a Registered Nurse role involving active patient care
- An ability to work flexibly to meet the challenging needs of our clients.
- Well-developed supervision skills and minimum 12 months demonstrated experience in team management.
- Experience of roster management and client record management systems
- Trained or experienced with medicine administration.
- Understanding of Restrictive Practices obligations
- Posess or be willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children's Check, First Aid.CPR.
