About the role
The Services Officer has you working at Castlemaine station, where you will deliver the best possible service to customers travelling on V/Line services while supporting safety on and around the rail.
As a Services Officer, you will sell Myki and V/Net tickets, make platform announcements and aid passengers.
You may be required to work at various stations along the Bendigo line, based on rostering and business requirements.
In this work, you will:
- Gain a Certificate 3 in Rail Customer Operations
- Communicate accurate and timely information to customers about V/Line services and other forms of public transportation
- Cleaning and maintaining the presentation of the station and facilities
- Identify and report safety hazards or incidents
- Take pride in, and maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the station and its facilities
- Ensure safety on and around the station, for customers, colleagues, and yourself
This permanent part-time position guarantees 46 hours of work every fortnight. The role requires a 4-week rotating roster including early starts, late finishes, weekends, and public holidays. You will have the possibility to pick up additional hours.

This position is classified as a TRAINEE STATION STAFF ($26.3917) whilst completing a CERT 3 in Rail Customer Operations for 4-6 weeks in Melbourne. Upon successful completion of the training, the position is then classified as a STN OFF C1 ($39.6386) in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019 and is a Medical Category 3 position. Current employees are expected to remain in their role for a minimum of 12 months before applying to new positions within V/Line.
