Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing business across Australia. Due to continued growth within the organisation and a focus on embedded safety into day-to-day operations, our client are now seeking an experienced SHEQ Business Partner to join their team!
About the role
This role will be pivotal in ensuring the safety of our client's workplace and fostering a great culture. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement policies, procedures and standards for the business, whilst advising business leaders on how to effectively apply these in their day-to-day operations. Specifically you will:
Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance against legislation and standards;
Undertake incident investigations as and when required;
Assist in the development and facilitation of training to employees and contractors on Safe Work Practices as well as ensure compliance in training registers;
Regularly liaise with the ELT to provide updates on risks, trends and recommendations for improvements across all business units;
Regularly develop and update SWMs, SOPs, risk assessments and risk registers;
Manage Return to Work and rehabilitation of injured workers;
Upskill leaders to implement SHEQ practices in their operations whilst shifting the safety culture of the business; and
Lead and chair the safety committee meetings, ensuring HSRs are supported and provided the tools they need to undertake responsibilities.
About you
You will be a passionate advocate for workplace safety with a comprehensive understanding of work health and safety practices and regulations. Additionally, you will have:
Relevant industry qualifications such as WHS Diploma / Advanced Diploma;
Experience in a similar role ideally within a heavy and complex organsiation;
Experience liaising and guiding ELT's on SHEQ matters; and
The ability to work in the grey and take new challenges head on.
