Community Access, Supported Independent Living and Respite House - Support Worker
Casual shifts available Monday - Sunday.
Location: Newcastle and Rutherford surrounds
Rotating roster for Support Workers with manual handling experience.

All About You Supports is a young company based in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Central Coast, that provides outstanding individualised services to people with support needs. We offer a range of services to in residential care, in home care And Community Access with distinct aims to improve independence, develop skills and provide a HIGH quality of life. We offer a unique service for participants from all over to engage in holidays with individualised supports, in group and individual packaged holiday programs and tailor-made holidays for the participant.
ABOUT OUR DISABILITY SERVICES
Our Disability services includes:
- Residential Care – we provide people with a safe and secure home environment, led by a team of dedicated, and caring staff
- In home care - our experienced staff assist in the home with domestic duties such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, household chores, assisted exercise and paying bills
- Community Access - we help clients access the community for educational, recreational, and vocational purposes. In various settings of individual supports, group programs, individual day programs, and respite holidays all around Australia.
The role
Join our Community Access, Supported Independent Living and Respite teams, you will work in an environment which values your life skills, experiences and interests.
This is a casual role with the option for PPT once rotating roster is filled.
Support participants to achieve their individual NDIS goals, develop life skills, gain independence and live the life they choose. Provide support in our SIL’s and Respite House located in Lisarow, Toronto, Birmingham Gardens, Waratah, Rutherford and East Maitland, to participants with varying support needs.
Aid participants in cooking, cleaning, shopping, personal care, medications, hobbies and improving quality of life.
Your skills and passions
- Administrative skills to maintain detailed records of participants development
- Adaptable communication skills that mould to participants communication support needs
- Teamwork centred workplace
- Ability to complex problem solve
- Desire to become a mentor and build lasting relationships
- Be fit and active to engage with participants in new activities, hands on approach to support is essential
- Passionate about supporting participants in improving mental and physical health
- Willing to assist with manual handling, personal care, domestic assistance, social support, transports.
- Experience with complex needs and behaviours
- Willing and able to assist with cleaning
Selection criteria
- Current First Aid Certificate/CPR Certificate
- NDIS Workers Screening Certificate
- A current valid NSW driver's licence
- Thorough understanding of NDIS Practice Standards
- Working with Children's Check
- Experience with people with disabilities
- Certificate 3 Individual support/Disability support and/or experience in disability or allied health ESSENTIAL
- NDIS Orientation Certificate
- 100 Points of Identification
- Covid 19 Certificate showing at least 2 vaccinations
- Mental Health training desired, but not essential
- Manual Handling training (essential)
