Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Site Business Manager provides strategic and operational leadership in the commercial and business services of the Newmont Tanami Operations.
Leading a finance team, you’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities for reducing costs, increasing project returns and reducing risks through partnering with the Site Leadership Team and the Site Operations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Establish and continually improve site financial processes and systems.
- Maximise existing business activities ensuring that contracted services are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage the annual business planning processes at a Site level.
- Support decision making through economic modelling and analysis.
- Interpret operating results and make recommendations in relation to cost reduction, profit improvement, capital management and risk reduction.
- Monitor and control key drivers and costs through interrogation of monthly financial reports.
- Provide accurate Site reporting on operating costs and capital expenditure in to the Regional office for consolidation.
- Understand and provide variance analysis on variances to business plans and forecasts.
- Development of LOM Budget that supports the Business Plan
- Provide accurate forecasting in accordance with the Newmont requirements and timelines
- Lead and mentor the team; performance management and ensuring growth, development and succession planning.
- Comply with the site’s statement of Commitment, standards and procedures in Safety, Environment and External Relations and in line with Newmont Corporate Policies.
This opportunity will ideally be based at our regional offices however regular travel to Tanami will be required.
About You
This is a broad role and will suit an experienced Commercial leader. Mining industry experience is essential as is tertiary qualifications in business, accounting and/or finance aligned.
Other skills we are seeking include:

- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of Leaders including Senior Management and Executive level.
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills to effectively drive outcomes
- Analytical skills for interpreting data and translating findings
