The role
The Site Engineer provides engineering and on-site technical support to the Project Manager. The role involves interacting with other engineers, supervisors and key stakeholders across the project team and requires the development and maintenance of up-to-date knowledge of engineering technology.
Responsibilities will include:
- Deliver engineering construction, planning and inspection services for the delivery of dam safety upgrade projects, bulk water and irrigation system asset renewal projects and other augmented or new water infrastructure projects for Sunwater and external clients.
- Ensure the review of all QA Documentation including reports and photos for inclusion into the prescribed software / project management platform.
- Provide timely and relevant reporting as required, on construction and engineering project progress, including against agreed program and budget, project risks and delivery issues.
- Liaising with the Project Engineer and the Construction Supervisor regularly to ensure that the technical deliverables during the design and construction phases are managed and achieved.
- Assist in Preparing briefs and managing contracts for the engagement of consultants and construction contractors for outsourced engineering work, and the monitoring of contractors’ performance to ensure quality outputs.
About you
We are looking for someone with approximately 5 years’ experience and will be available to travel to varying project sites on a regular occurrence. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Well-developed technical and risk management skills, with the ability to identify potential asset risks and make recommendations for mitigation strategies.
- Experience in specification, installation, FAT and SAT of electrical equipment such transformers, EHV to LV substations & switchyards and equipment rooms.
- QA and reporting, assist with quality management and all necessary documentation.
